Every trading platform is adding AI. The question that matters is not how clever it is, but what it is allowed to do. How AIDANN answers that.
An AI trade assistant is software that helps a trader understand the market and their own position faster, by reading the data on a trading platform and explaining it in plain language. The phrase covers a wide range of tools, from chat windows that summarize news to agents that place orders on a trader's behalf.
Those are very different things, and the difference is permission.
An agent acts. It can place, amend or cancel orders, move money or commit a balance sheet. An assistant informs. It reads, computes and explains, and a person decides and acts.
In consumer apps that line can blur. In institutional markets it cannot, because every order carries a bank's capital and a named person's accountability.
AIDANN is the IDBX trade assistant. The name stands for AI for Data Driven Analytics, Navigation and Netting.
It reads the book, the trader's own orders and fills, and the netting set, and answers questions about them in plain language. What is working, what changed, what a net position looks like within a settlement set, and where each figure came from. Every IDBX participant has AIDANN from day one, starting with FX swaps and bonds.
AIDANN holds no permission to place, amend or cancel an order. It does not change settlement. It does not give trade advice or encourage a trade. It presents the facts it has and says where they came from, and when it does not know, it says so.
That perimeter was drawn before the model was built, not added afterwards. Why we drew the line there.
An assistant that cannot act is slower than an agent that can. A trader still makes every decision and enters every order. Some desks will want more automation than that, and AIDANN will not give it to them.
It is also AI, and AI can make mistakes. That is why AIDANN shows its sources, and why the decision stays with the person accountable for it.
AIDANN runs on the AIDANN page beside a live netting engine, and on the phone in IDBX on the move.
